submissions are closed
Submissions closed on Friday, September 11, 2026. Thank you to everyone who sent one in.
Related proposals have been grouped for comparison into six options, each drawn on the same City reference map, with a further option matching the City's own reference drawing added on September 17.
Submissions are closed; observations and petition signatures remain open.
Note on current measurements
On September 17, 2026, Councillor Wilson supplied a City drawing labelled “As-Built,” identifying 0.30 acres for the small-dog area and 0.71 acres for the main area. Its measurement method has not been independently verified. Read the reply →
The total off-leash park area is confirmed at 1.06 acres. The preliminary drawing's 0.26-acre / 0.80-acre split, and the September 17 as-built drawing's 0.30-acre / 0.71-acre split, should each be treated as the City's stated figures, not independently confirmed measurements of the current fenced configuration.
Submissions closed before the as-built drawing was supplied, and proposals were not evaluated using the disputed City acreage split or acreage-dependent dog-density calculations. Because the community vote is already underway, this information has not been used to re-evaluate or rescale submitted proposals.
Community meeting
Thank you to everyone who joined us on August 13. Read the meeting summary (PDF) →
- 1 Review. Every submission is checked for completeness and reformatted into a consistent comparison format; the substance of the proposal is not changed. If corrected City measurements become available and materially affect a proposal, the submitter will have a chance to revise it first.
- 2 Publish. All eligible proposals are published together, side by side, so they can be compared on the same terms.
- 3 Vote. Submissions closed Friday, September 11, 2026. Voting closed September 27, 2026. See the results.
- 4 Advance. The three proposals receiving the most support in the community vote will be advanced to the City for consideration.
- What problem(s) does your idea solve?
- Where would the small-dog area go, and roughly how big would it be?
- How would people and dogs enter, exit, and move through the park safely and accessibly?
- What would need to change or be added? Think fencing, gates, benches, trees, or other features.
- What are the benefits of your idea? Are there any downsides?
None of these work for you? Email [email protected] and we'll find a way.
Show us how you
would change the park
Start with the park configuration shown here and build your solution.
- Move or change the dividing fence
- Keep the existing fencing and add gates
- Add new fencing
- Add or relocate entrances
- Add trees, benches, picnic tables or water
- Add notes explaining your idea
Important
The dividing fence shown on the City-provided drawing does not accurately match its current location on the ground. Use it as a design reference, not an exact surveyed location.
You do not need exact measurements to submit an idea.
Draw or mark up your proposal. The total off-leash area is confirmed at 1.06 acres; the internal fence location shown is a reference only.
For the easiest drawing experience, a tablet or larger screen may be more comfortable. You can still submit from your phone.

Notes
Hold and drag to draw a fence line or area. Arrows and scribbles are fine. Anything that closes into a loop is treated as an area.

Remember to touch on: the problem this solves, where the small-dog area would go and how big, how people and dogs would move through safely, what would need to change, and the benefits and downsides.

Some people think better talking than typing. Send us a voice note, or ask us to sit down with you — we'll record it, write it up, and send you the draft before anything is published.

Print it &
draw it
Download the form, sketch or write your idea by hand, and send it back to us. No account or app needed: a printed, traced, hand-drawn, or coloured-in submission counts exactly the same as anything submitted online.
